Biography

Catarina Lopes Pereira is a Market Access Manager at Medicines for Europe since November 2017. Catarina joined Medicines for Europe in April 2016. As part of the Market Access team, she is working to shape in the EU a dynamic and sustainable market situation that enables fast and fair pricing & reimbursement for generic, biosimilar and value added medicines, thereby improving and increasing the access for patients to affordable generic, biosimilar and value added medicines. One of her work streams has been to investigate the preventive measures to tackle medicine shortages in a multisource market. Since November 2017, she has taken over the coordination of the Value Added Medicines sector group.

MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences by background, she obtained her degree and master in the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon. After her master, she worked as Health Economics & Outcomes Research Analyst in the Center for Evidence-Based Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon during which Catarina has focused on Health Technology Assessment.
